Reliving the Magic: Tom Welling Joins the Arrowverse Crossover

For years, Arrow has built its universe on the foundation laid by Smallville, and according to executive producer Marc Guggenheim, this crossover was an opportunity to honor that legacy. "For eight years, Arrow has stood on the shoulders of Smallville. There simply wouldn't be an Arrow or an Arrowverse without it," Guggenheim said. "When we started discussing Crisis on Infinite Earths, getting Tom to reprise his iconic role was our top priority. We're beyond thrilled, and we can't wait for fans to see what we've got planned."

From Smallville to the Arrowverse: A Legacy Continues

Smallville co-creator Al Gough spoke exclusively to Closer about Welling's return, expressing his excitement. "We’re thrilled that Tom is reprising his iconic role as Clark Kent for the Crisis crossover. The creators and producers of the Arrowverse have always been so supportive of Smallville, recognizing its lasting influence. We're incredibly proud of their continued success and their ability to bring these beloved heroes to a new generation of fans, including my own kids," Gough said.

Now, here's the twist: this event will feature three different versions of Superman. Alongside Welling, Tyler Hoechlin will return to his role as Superman from Supergirl, and Brandon Routh, known for his portrayal of the Man of Steel in the 2006 film Superman Returns, will also don the iconic suit. This trio of Supes is set to bring a fresh and exciting dynamic to the crossover event.
