Parenting: A Rollercoaster of Emotions
Let’s face it—raising kids isn’t exactly a walk in the park. Just ask Eva Mendes, who candidly shared her thoughts on parenthood during a recent appearance on Access Daily. Eva, 45, is the proud mom of two daughters, Esmeralda, 5, and Amada, 3, with actor Ryan Gosling, 38. While she admits it’s no easy feat, she also finds it to be an incredible journey filled with love, laughter, and a few challenges along the way.
“Parenting is tough, no doubt about it,” Eva confessed. “But there’s something magical about those moments when you put your kids to bed, and you and Ryan look at each other like, ‘We did it. We survived another day.’ It’s such a rewarding experience, even though it can drive you absolutely crazy sometimes.”

Date Nights: The Key to Keeping Romance Alive
Even with two little ones at home, Eva and Ryan know how important it is to maintain their connection. Date nights, though requiring some serious planning, are a priority for the couple. “It’s all about preparation,” Eva revealed. “But trust me, it’s worth it.”

“We’re lucky to have so much family support around us,” she added with a laugh. “My family lives nearby, and Ryan’s family travels in from Canada frequently. They stay for long stretches, and it’s such a blessing. It really helps us carve out time for each other without feeling guilty about leaving the kids.”
The Future: Are Their Kids Destined for the Spotlight?
With both parents being Hollywood heavyweights, it’s natural to wonder if Eva and Ryan’s daughters will follow in their footsteps. But according to Eva, it’s still too early to tell. “At this stage, they’re into everything. Painting, drawing, arts and crafts—you name it,” she said. “We’ve got musical instruments lying around, and while they enjoy playing with them, I wouldn’t say they’re ready for Carnegie Hall just yet.”
“Right now, we’re just creating a fun, creative environment where they can explore their interests. Whether or not they pursue acting or music is completely up to them. For now, we’re just enjoying watching them grow and discover what makes them happy.”
