There’s something truly special about the bond between a father and his child. It’s been 15 years since the world lost the legendary actor Christopher Reeve, but his legacy continues to inspire. His youngest son, Will Reeve, recently opened up about how he stays connected to his dad even after all these years. Through heartfelt memories and shared passions, Will has found a way to keep his father close to his heart.
Will, now 27 years old, sat down with Access Hollywood to talk about his dad and the sport that brought them together. "Having an outlet to focus on really helped me out, and it also kept me connected to my dad," Will shared. He revealed that hockey was their favorite pastime. "He was always right there with me. Even now, I always feel his version of a thumbs-up when I’m on the ice," Will said, recalling how his dad used to visit him at the local hockey rink just months after he passed away. It’s clear that Christopher’s spirit lives on through his son.
Christopher Reeve: A Legacy Beyond Superman
Christopher Reeve’s impact on the world goes far beyond his iconic role as Superman. His commitment to advocating for spinal cord injury research has left a lasting impression on countless lives. Will, who is now a correspondent for Good Morning America, shared that his dad was proud of him in every moment. "He was always there for me, even in ways I couldn’t fully understand at the time," Will added.

Christopher Reeve wasn’t just a father to Will. He also had two other children from his previous relationship with Gae Exton: son Matthew, 39, and daughter Alexandra, 35. Each of them carries a piece of their father’s legacy, continuing to honor his memory through their own lives and work.

Paralyzed But Never Broken: Christopher Reeve’s Unyielding Spirit
In 1995, Christopher Reeve suffered a tragic horse-riding accident that left him paralyzed. Yet, he refused to let his condition define him or get in the way of being the father his children needed. Alexandra, speaking at The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation’s Magical Evening Gala, said, "My dad would be thrilled to see the progress we’ve made in spinal cord injury research. He was the embodiment of hope, and now we’re seeing that hope turn into real results."
Will echoed this sentiment, explaining how his dad managed to connect with him despite their physical limitations. "We couldn’t do traditional physical activities together, but Dad made a huge effort to sit down and have meaningful conversations with us. Those one-on-one moments, where we could just focus on each other, were incredibly valuable," Will recalled.
The Man Behind the Cape
Christopher Reeve will forever be remembered as the Man of Steel, but his role as Superman went beyond the screen. "I think Superman shaped who he was. He felt he needed to be a force for good in the world," Will said. His dad’s dedication to making a difference in the lives of others continues to inspire those around him.

While we miss Christopher dearly, his legacy lives on through the incredible children he raised. Matthew, Alexandra, and Will continue to honor their father’s memory by spreading hope and positivity in the world.
