Tom Arnold has lived a whirlwind of a career, marked by highs and lows, but one thing remains constant: his deep love and devotion to his two children—son Jax and daughter Quinn. As a comedian who’s about to embark on a new fall tour of Family Feud Live: Celebrity Edition, Arnold recently opened up about what it means to balance his work life with his role as a dad.
On the Road, But Never Taking Family for Granted
Tom Arnold, who's set to hit the road for Family Feud Live: Celebrity Edition, recently shared his thoughts on the challenges of leaving his kids behind while he's out working. "The truth is, I don’t take a single moment with them for granted," the 60-year-old actor revealed in an exclusive interview with Closer Weekly. "These kids teach me something new every single day. Even now, we still sleep in the same bed—it’s like I’m trying to soak up every second with them. This upcoming tour will be the longest I’ve been away since they were born, just over two weeks. But you know what? It’s a good thing. It’ll give me a chance to reflect and come back refreshed," Arnold explained.

Why Downtime is Important for Everyone
Despite his deep connection with his kids, Arnold understands the importance of taking some time for himself. "I need to step out of the house a little bit too—it’s good for me," he admitted. "This tour will be a fun experience, and when I meet people in different towns, they’re going to hear all about my kids. People might get tired of it unless they have kids of their own. So, I’ll be out there sharing stories, meeting other parents, and coming back home with a renewed perspective." Sharing his life with Ashley Groussman, Tom finds joy in raising his 6-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter.
“Every day, my daughter says something that just blows my mind. She’s incredibly smart, and honestly, these kids are so different from each other," Tom continued. "My son surprises me all the time. I might think I know what he’s going to do, but he always finds a way to step up. Am I too lenient? Maybe, but I give them a lot of freedom to express themselves in their own ways. And you know what? They always come through. They’re smarter and better than I ever was or am,” Arnold proudly shared.
“I learn so much just by watching them. They keep me on my toes, and I have so much fun with them," Tom gushed. "It’s like, ‘What are we going to do tomorrow?’ I genuinely want to spend time with them—it’s that simple.”

Watching Them Grow
“They’re absolutely amazing, and watching them interact with the world is a gift," Tom said. "Whether it’s at school, with friends, or even with each other, they have this incredible bond. They love each other so much and genuinely look out for one another—it’s heartwarming to witness.”
While comedy has been Tom’s main focus throughout his career, there’s a chance his kids might follow in his footsteps. "My son is naturally funny—he’s a big kid, and he’s just happy with who he is," the author of Past & Present Imperfectly shared. "My daughter? She’s sharp, wicked smart. These kids are just incredible. They’re good, they’re smart, and we laugh a lot because they’re so funny. They’re just ridiculous sometimes, and that’s what makes them so special,” Tom added.
