Hey there! It’s been a bittersweet moment for fans of Steve Harvey's daytime talk show, Steve. The final episode was filmed on Thursday, May 9, and the last few episodes are scheduled to air on NBC through June. For those who’ve been tuning in, this marks the end of an era. But don’t worry, Steve isn’t slowing down anytime soon!
Now, here’s the scoop: even though the 62-year-old comedian had a fantastic run on air, NBC decided to hand over his time slot to a new show—The Kelly Clarkson Show. According to Variety, this change was part of the network's plan to freshen up their lineup. Change is always tough, but it’s part of the game, right?
Steve Harvey Opens Up About the Decision
Back in January, Steve shared how he found out about NBC’s decision. He was pretty candid about it. “I thought I was [going to stay with NBC], until they made an announcement a couple of weeks ago that they wanted to give Kelly Clarkson the owned-and-operated NBC networks — that’s my slot,” he said at the time. “I don’t know if it sold as well as they thought, but I thought it would have been nice of them to come to me…”

Steve also mentioned that it really stung that NBC didn’t reach out to him before making the decision public. “I’m just an old school guy, and I just thought that you’re supposed to talk to people and go, ‘Look, you’ve been good business for us. This is what we’re thinking of doing, are you okay with that?’” he explained. “Instead, they just dropped the news without a heads-up, and that feels a little crazy, you know?”
Kelly Clarkson Steps In
On the flip side, Kelly Clarkson is all set to launch her new talk show this fall. According to the Hollywood Reporter, she couldn’t be more excited about this opportunity. “I love connecting with people, playing games, music, and finding ways to help or give back to communities/organizations,” she shared. “Having my own talk show where I get to do all of these things is pretty much a dream job!”
