Wow, this is heartwarming news! Denise Richards recently shared some touching family updates, revealing that her husband, Aaron Phypers, is officially adopting her youngest daughter, Eloise. It’s moments like these that remind us how love and family come in all forms, and this one feels particularly special.
Denise Richards Opens Up About Aaron’s Role in the Family
Denise, who has always been open about her personal life, spoke candidly during an appearance on The Talk on May 11. She raved about Aaron’s role as a dad, saying, “He’s amazing as a daddy.” She couldn’t help but joke about some of his other challenges, quipping, “I think he’s having a harder time adapting to other things with me, like my mouth that gets me in trouble.” But when it comes to her daughters, Aaron shines. “He’s amazing with my daughters,” Denise said with pride, “and he’s adopting my youngest, which is really great.”

Denise’s Journey as a Mother
Denise adopted Eloise, now 7 years old, as a single mother back in 2011. Alongside Eloise, Denise shares two other daughters—Sam, 15, and Lola, 13—with her ex-husband Charlie Sheen. Marriage to Aaron in September 2018 has brought new dimensions of joy and stability to her family. Denise expressed her gratitude on The Talk, saying she feels “very lucky” to have tied the knot with Aaron, whom she describes as “the best ever.”
Opening Up About Eloise’s Special Needs
Earlier this year, Denise courageously shared with the world that her youngest daughter has special needs. Eloise has been diagnosed with a chromosomal disorder that has caused significant developmental delays. Denise explained to People that while Eloise can only say a handful of words, her understanding can vary widely. “There are times when she feels like her age in understanding, and then other times where it feels she’s emotionally 3 years old,” Denise said.

Denise admitted that the journey hasn’t been easy. “It’s been challenging. I’m learning every day because they don’t really have a road map for her particular case,” she said. Despite the uncertainties, Denise remains optimistic. “I don’t know if Eloise is ever going to talk like a typical child. But as a parent, you want what’s best for your children, and you just do it,” she added.
A Mother’s Perspective on Adoption
Denise has always viewed Eloise as her daughter, regardless of the circumstances of their connection. In an interview with The Local Moms Network, she shared, “To me, it feels like I always had Eloise—there’s no difference between an adopted child or biological child, or Eloise and my older daughters.” She continued, “I’ve always believed that we choose our parents and she just chose me another way. She’s my daughter and she’s a part of me.”
