Listen, y’all, there’s a story you need to hear. The legendary Tina Turner, the powerhouse behind the iconic anthem “Proud Mary,” is opening up about some deeply personal moments in her life. In a candid conversation with Gayle King, the 79-year-old music legend spoke about the heartbreaking loss of her son, Craig, who tragically took his own life in 2018.
Craig was 59 when he passed, and Tina reflects on his life with both sorrow and love. "I think Craig was lonely," she said thoughtfully. "That's what I believe really affected him more than anything else." But Tina doesn’t just dwell on the pain; she finds solace in the memories. "I have pictures all around of him smiling, and I truly feel like he's in a good place now. I really do," she added with a sense of peace.

Through Trials and Tribulations: Tina's New Memoir
During this heartfelt interview, Tina also delved into her new memoir, My Love Story. She shared how she faced some of the toughest challenges of her life, including a stroke, intestinal cancer, and kidney failure. When her husband, Erwin, who is 63, offered to donate one of his kidneys to save her life, Tina initially hesitated. "Yes, but darling, you're young, and I'm already old. And I don't mind," she remembered telling him.

It was only after reflecting on her spiritual beliefs that she decided to accept Erwin’s generous offer. "In Buddhism, you're taught that life and death are part of the natural cycle, something that's accepted," she explained. "So when Erwin said he was willing to give up a kidney, I thought, 'OK, darling, if you're willing to do this, then fine.'"
From Ike to Erwin: A Journey of Love
Tina and Erwin tied the knot in 2013, decades after her tumultuous marriage to Ike Turner ended in divorce in 1978. She recalled how her first marriage came about under less-than-ideal circumstances. "When Ike asked me to marry him, I knew there was a reason behind it," she said. "But I had to say yes...or it was gonna be a fight. And so, when we drove to get married, that wasn't exactly my dream wedding."
