Sometimes, the toughest critics in life are the ones closest to you — and that certainly holds true for comedian Bill Hader. As it turns out, his three daughters aren’t exactly bowled over by their dad's acting prowess. In an exclusive interview with Closer Weekly, Hader opened up about his daughters' blasé reactions to his work. It's a refreshing glimpse into the life of a Hollywood star juggling fame and family life.
Speaking at the It: Chapter Two premiere at the Regency Village Theatre in Los Angeles on August 26, Bill shared how his kids, Hannah, Harper, and Hayley, greet his latest projects with a shrug. "They think it's all right," he said, mimicking their lackluster tone. "When I pop up in something, they're like, 'Oh,' you know?" He chuckled, adding, "It's like, 'All right. You're in here again.'"
Will the Kids Watch Dad's Scary Movie?
As for whether or not he'll let his daughters — ages 9, 7, and 4 — watch him in the movie adaptation of Stephen King's terrifying novel, Bill has set firm boundaries. "No," he said firmly when asked if they could join him at the premiere. "But I do think it'll be interesting years from now," he mused. "Maybe they'll have a sleepover and watch the It movies. And then, boom — I'll be part of that cultural thing."

Hader, 41, shares his three daughters with his ex-wife, Maggie Carey, whom he was married to from 2006 to 2018. He admitted that the L.A. premiere marked his first time seeing the film, adding an extra layer of excitement to the night.
A Look Back at Bill's Career Journey
From winning Emmys for HBO's Barry to starring in blockbusters like It: Chapter Two, Bill's career has skyrocketed in recent years. Yet, he remains grounded and appreciative of the talent around him. When asked about his favorite cast members from Saturday Night Live, he praised Beck Bennett, who joined the show in 2013, calling him "fantastic."

Reflecting on his time on Saturday Night Live, Hader fondly remembers working alongside fellow alums like Kristen Wiig and Will Forte. "We had this thing called the 'Friday Night Crazies,'" he recalled. "Whatever the last sketch was on Friday night, me and Kristen and everyone in the cast would just get really punchy. We'd laugh so hard we'd lose our minds."
These memories are etched in his mind, especially the spontaneous moments that made the show unforgettable. "I remember trying to put someone in a refrigerator once," he laughed. "I don't even remember who it was. And Will? One time, he threw a guy's dinner out the window! The guy had been waiting for it for two hours, and Will just tossed it out the 17th-floor window. That was epic."
