Let’s talk about one amazing mom, Eva Longoria. You know her from her incredible acting career—she’s currently wrapping up four films—but behind the scenes, Eva’s also juggling motherhood with her Hollywood life. It’s not easy, but she’s found a way to make it all work while spending quality time with her adorable son, Santiago.
In an exclusive interview with Parents magazine, the 44-year-old actress is candid about the challenges of being a working mom in Hollywood. “There needs to be more acceptance of motherhood in this industry,” Eva shares. “Sometimes, after becoming a mom, you stop getting those glamorous roles or feel pressured to wait until you look a certain way before returning to work.” But Eva? She wasn’t having it. Just eight weeks after welcoming her first child, she was back on set, proving that you don’t have to sacrifice your career for motherhood—or the other way around.
Returning to Work: A Journey of Hard Work and Dedication

“Coming back to work wasn’t easy,” Eva admits. “Breastfeeding while working was especially tough because of the timing involved with pumping, feeding, sleeping, and, let’s be honest, not sleeping. But you figure it out, you adapt, and you get it done,” she explains with determination. Despite the challenges, Eva says that her son Santi is thriving. “He’s healthy, funny, sweet, and he even sleeps well!” she gushes. Still, balancing her demanding career with family life isn’t always a walk in the park.

Structuring Her Life for Success
Eva reveals that she’s had to become more disciplined and structured since becoming a mom. “I’ll turn down projects if I can’t give them my full attention. Now, I have to be in charge of my schedule and stick to it,” she says. “The stakes are higher now that I have a child. I want to ensure I’m doing my part to leave the world a better place—for him and for all the children of the future.” Eva, who shares Santi with her husband José Bastón, is determined to set an example for her son and inspire others to do the same.

Avoiding the Spotlight on Parenting Advice
Even though Eva has a powerful platform, she doesn’t want to be seen as a parenting guru. “My goal is to be the best mom I can be for Santi, but I’m not here to tell everyone else how they should parent,” she clarifies. “I’m not about pushing one specific system or approach. Parenting is personal, and everyone’s journey is unique.” Eva’s humility and focus on her own family life show just how grounded she remains, despite her fame.
