Though Priscilla Presley may have just one daughter, she's poured her heart into ensuring Lisa Marie Presley grew up with a wealth of wisdom, including the value of compassion. In a heartfelt chat, Priscilla revealed how she instilled these values in her daughter, creating a legacy of kindness that spans generations.
Teaching the Value of Compassion
At the Last Chance for Animals’ 35th Anniversary Gala in Beverly Hills on October 19, the 74-year-old Priscilla Presley spoke candidly about the lessons she passed on to Lisa Marie, now 51. "It all starts at home," Priscilla told Closer Weekly. "As parents, we have a responsibility to teach our kids how to be kind, especially when it comes to animals. Growing up around animals is such an important part of a child's development. It teaches them empathy, patience, and respect for all living beings. They need to understand that animals have feelings too, and they deserve to be treated with care and kindness."

A Lifelong Passion for Animals
Priscilla's love for animals isn't something she picked up later in life—it’s been a lifelong passion. "Since I was 5 years old, I’ve been rescuing animals," she fondly recalled. "They would just find me, and I’d bring them home. Whether it was dogs or bunnies, I’d sneak them into my closet at night because my dad didn’t want them in the house. I’d let them stay there until I could figure out what to do next. It’s something that’s always been a part of who I am." This early experience shaped her worldview and inspired her to pass that same love and understanding onto Lisa Marie.

Family Comes First
While Priscilla cherishes her bond with animals, her granddaughters, Finley and Harper, hold a special place in her heart. "They’re just the sweetest little girls," she gushed to Us Weekly. "They already know how to Google, draw characters, and explore the world around them. Watching them grow up and experience life is such a joy. They bring so much light and happiness into my life." Priscilla's love for her family and animals alike paints a picture of a woman who truly values connection and compassion.
