Let’s rewind the clock for a moment. Before Meghan McCain became the outspoken conservative voice on The View, and long before any controversies or walk-offs, it turns out she was quite the life of the party. In a recent Instagram post, Meghan gave us a peek into her wilder years in Los Angeles, where she lived it up like nobody's business. It’s like a throwback to the days when she wasn’t just making headlines but was creating memories that could fill an entire season of a reality show.
Living the Hollywood Dream: Meghan McCain’s Glamorous Loft
Back in the day, Meghan McCain wasn’t just another face in the crowd. On October 3, the 34-year-old took to Instagram to share a glimpse of her glamorous past. She described her time in Los Angeles with her close friend and hairstylist, Josh Rupley, whose green hair was as iconic as her pink. “Josh with the green hair, me with the pink,” she wrote, reminiscing about her days in a bachelorette loft in Hollywood. Her place wasn’t just any apartment; it was a spectacle. Picture this: a balcony offering a front-row view of the Capitol Records building, giant gold angel wings in the living room, and furniture that screamed 70s glam. Oh, and let’s not forget the closet that was bigger than her bedroom. Meghan wanted her pad to feel like a mix between Graceland and Scarface. Seriously, if that doesn’t scream opulence, I don’t know what does.
View this post on Instagram#TBT – @joshrupley with the green hair, me with the pink. I was living in Hollywood in what could best be described as the ultimate bachelorette loft with a balcony that looked directly at the Capitol records building on Hollywood and vine. I had giant gold angel wings in my living room, lots of blue velvet and 70’s gold mirrored furniture and a closet bigger than my bedroom. I wanted my place to look like “Graceland meets Scarface” (seriously google it, my place was amazing and I did a spread in refinery 29 showing it off). My neighbors were actors, porn stars and vine stars. I went to every SINGLE club and kitschy bar in LA, went on dates with the weirdest, creative, eccentric and also the most deeply dysfunctional men (there’s a special breed I personally found to subsist in LA) who all thought me being a republican made me some endangered creature from another planet but were curious nonetheless. They always took me to the Sunset Tower restaurant for a first date. Josh and I got drunk tattoos on the sunset strip, I co-hosted the all time most fun and wild daily tv show I’ll ever work on (with the truly the most creative people I’ve ever met). We drove to Palm Springs on the weekends, stayed up all night dancing at every gay bar but always ended the night at the Gold Coast, drove to Malibu on Sundays, I threw an over the top 30th Birthday Party for myself at both the Chateau Mormont AND the sunset marquis for the after, after party. I have so many hundreds of crazy/beautiful memories than I could possibly write out on an Instagram post. Some that I’ll never, ever share 😉 – nor will Josh so don’t even try, he’s a vault. I think I had more fun in my twenties than absolutely anyone else in all of media (at least political). I am grateful for a ride or die friend @joshrupley who has known me through every incarnation of my life. I agree with the adage that everyone should live in LA once before it makes you soft and NYC once before it makes you hard. There are many photos documenting this particular moment in time you can find skewed all over the internet. Also for everyone who ever called me an ice queen – you never really got the chance to know me.💗🌴💗🌴

The Dating Scene and Late-Night Adventures
Meghan’s adventures weren’t confined to her stunning apartment. In her post, she mentioned living near actors and adult film stars, and her dating life was just as colorful. She found herself going on dates with men who were as eccentric as they were dysfunctional. These weren’t your average guys; they were the kind who thought her being a Republican made her an exotic creature from another planet. But hey, they were curious, and they always took her to the Sunset Tower restaurant for first dates. Meghan and Josh also got drunk tattoos on the Sunset Strip, co-hosted a wild TV show, and spent weekends in Palm Springs. Weeknights were for dancing at gay bars, and Sundays were reserved for Malibu. Oh, and let’s not forget her over-the-top 30th birthday party, which took place at both the Chateau Marmont and the Sunset Marquis.
“I have so many hundreds of crazy/beautiful memories that I could possibly write out on an Instagram post,” Meghan continued. “I think I had more fun in my twenties than absolutely anyone else in all of media (at least political). … There are many photos documenting this particular moment in time you can find skewed all over the internet. Also, for everyone who ever called me an ice queen — you never really got the chance to know me.”
