A Holiday Surprise That Will Melt Your Heart
Let me take you back to a magical Christmas when Kate Hudson and her brother Oliver experienced one of the most unforgettable moments of their childhood. The Almost Famous star, now 40, shared this delightful memory on the premiere episode of their new podcast, "Sibling Rivalry," where they delve into family stories that shaped their lives.
When Santa Delivered More Than Presents
Picture this: it's Christmas morning, and the house is alive with excitement. Kate and Oliver wake up to find something extraordinary. “It was in the chimney,” Oliver, now 43, fondly remembers. “There were sleigh tracks going off the roof. Blitzen’s bells had come off his neck and were laying in the snow on the roof, and stuck in the chimney was a present that got left behind.”
Now, here's the kicker—this wasn't just any present. When they opened it, they found a tiny onesie inside. "We were like, 'What does this mean?'" Kate explained. It turned out their parents, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, were expecting a new addition to the family—Wyatt Russell, who is now an actor himself and married to actress Meredith Hager.

More Than Just a Holiday Story
Wyatt was born in 1986, and today he follows in his siblings' footsteps as an actor. But this wasn't the only heartwarming moment Kate and Oliver recalled. They also shared a touching story about how their parents, Goldie and Kurt, fell in love. “We were living in deep Malibu,” Kate said. “Mom said that’s sort of when she fell in love with Kurt, right away because she had brought him back to the house and we had already been asleep.”
