There’s nothing quite like family time, and Doria Ragland, the proud grandmother of Archie, is all set for a memorable Thanksgiving with her beloved grandson. While she did get to spend some precious weeks with her daughter, Duchess Meghan, after the birth of Archie in May, it wasn’t nearly enough. Thankfully, the Sussexes are bringing baby Archie to Los Angeles, giving Doria the chance to reconnect and cherish the holiday together.
Grandma Doria's Holiday Plans for Little Archie
“Doria’s already gone all out, buying Archie plenty of gifts, books, and toys,” a source exclusively revealed to Closer Weekly. “She absolutely loves spoiling her grandson and is thrilled about him spending quality time in her hometown. Meghan feels the same way, and they’re both looking forward to making this Thanksgiving unforgettable.”
Archie's Early Days with Doria and the Royal Family
When Archie made his grand entrance on May 6, Doria was right there in the U.K. to witness the historic moment. At that time, it was reported that she was “overjoyed” to meet her first grandchild and later visited with her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. After helping out for a while, it was time for her to return to Los Angeles, although she did make it back for Archie’s christening on July 6. Since then, Doria has been a “big help” to both Meghan, 38, and Harry, 35, providing support and love for the young family.

Thanksgiving Feast Plans for the Sussexes and Doria
“Harry and Meghan are counting down the days until they celebrate Thanksgiving in L.A.,” the source continued, offering a peek into the family’s holiday plans. “Meghan’s preparing an intimate, traditional family lunch with just the three of them and Doria — turkey will be served with all the trimmings.”
During their trip to the U.S., the couple plans to take full advantage of the pleasant weather and enjoy outdoor activities with Archie.
“The couple has a jam-packed schedule for their time in L.A., filled with fun family activities — hiking, picnics, dinners, and much more,” a royal insider close to the pair recently disclosed to Closer Weekly. “They’re eager to make the most of the glorious weather L.A. has to offer and spend as much time outdoors as possible.”
While Harry is “eager to get back on the surfboard,” the insider added that Meghan is “most excited” about sharing a Thanksgiving meal with her mom, Doria.
