Hey there, friends! If you're anything like me, you love hearing about the love lives of Hollywood's finest. Well, get ready because Dennis Quaid and his new fiancée, Laura Savoie, are about to steal the spotlight. These two are wasting no time when it comes to planning their future together. During a recent chat with ET, alongside his Merry Happy Whatever co-star Brent Morin, Dennis opened up about his whirlwind engagement and revealed why they’re rushing to the altar.
Now, Dennis Quaid, the charming 65-year-old heartthrob, joked that the wedding planning kicked off "like the next minute" after he popped the question. He didn’t waste a second! Dennis and Laura, who began dating earlier this year, have set an ambitious timeline. They plan to tie the knot within a year of their engagement. Talk about fast-tracking their happily ever after!

So, why the rush? Dennis explained that, according to him, "You’ve got a year, right? And if you go past a year without getting married, then you’re suspect." He added, "That’s basic etiquette." The Intruder star even teased that Laura is already diving into wedding dress shopping. "I think she’s looking at wedding dresses today," Dennis said with a smile. "She’s gotta get started." Aww, how sweet is that?

The Proposal: A Spontaneous Moment in Paradise
Following his romantic proposal in late October, Dennis opened up to Extra about the magical moment he asked Laura to spend the rest of her life with him. The beloved actor, who was in Hawaii at the time promoting his new movie Midway alongside co-stars Woody Harrelson and Patrick Wilson, recalled the special moment when he got down on one knee.
“It happened on the very northernmost point of Oahu, at Turtle Bay," Dennis said. "It was kind of spontaneous. It was very much a surprise.” The Rookie star, who has been married three times before—to P. J. Soles from 1978 to 1983, Meg Ryan from 1991 to 2001, and Kimberly Quaid from 2004 to 2018—shared more details about the "sunset" proposal. "I had the ring in my pocket," he continued. "It has been kind of a month-and-a-half plan. I wanted it to be private." Dennis added, "[Laura] was actually taking a selfie of us, and I put the ring in front and said, 'Will you marry me?'—and then she fell down." So cute!
