Bob Newhart, who worked alongside Tim Conway in the 1982 film Dick and Tim, couldn't contain his admiration for the late actor. "We lost one of the greatest today — Tim Conway may be the greatest ever!" Bob exclaimed. He went on to share a touching memory about Tim's humility during the Emmy Awards. Bob expanded on his thoughts in a statement to Fox News, sharing how deeply he and his wife, Ginny, were affected by Tim's passing. "Ginnie and I lost a dear friend with Tim’s passing. He was one of the greatest, if not the greatest," Bob reflected. He fondly recalled their regular Tuesday dinners, which were attended by a group of legendary entertainers, including Dick and Dolly Martin, Don and Barbara Rickles, Mike and Marylou Connors, and Eydie and Steve Lawrence. "No one should be allowed to laugh that much!" Bob joked, his words tinged with sadness. "We will miss him greatly."
Tim Conway's Legacy in Hollywood
Fans and colleagues alike were heartbroken to learn that Tim Conway, best known for his role in McHale's Navy, had passed away. His representative, Howard Bragman, confirmed the news, revealing that Tim had passed in the Los Angeles area on the morning of May 14. In the years leading up to his death, Tim battled complications from Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). However, according to People, there were no signs of dementia or Alzheimer's.

Tim leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Charlene Conway, as well as several children and grandchildren. According to court documents obtained by Closer Weekly, Charlene was appointed as Tim's conservator in April 2019, following a legal process that involved Tim’s stepdaughter, Kelly Conway, who had initially sought the role herself. The court ultimately deemed Charlene "suitable and qualified," and Kelly agreed to the appointment.
