A Heartfelt Tribute: Bindi Irwin Wishes Her Parents a Happy Anniversary
Back in 1992, the world-famous crocodile hunter, Steve Irwin, tied the knot with his beloved wife, Terri. Fast forward to today, and their daughter, Bindi Irwin, took a moment to honor this special day. The now 23-year-old celebrated her parents' enduring love by sharing a heartfelt message on Instagram. She posted a nostalgic photo of her late father and her mom, both smiling proudly while seated in director chairs labeled The Crocodile Hunter. “Happy Anniversary to my beautiful parents. Your love is everlasting and shines brighter each and every day,” Bindi wrote in the caption.

Fans couldn’t help but feel the bittersweet emotions tied to the image. The comments section quickly filled with heartfelt messages. One fan wrote, “The world is truly blessed to have your family. Much love and most happiest anniversary to your amazing parents.” Another added, “Loved watching Steve and Terri. Miss him.” It’s clear that Steve Irwin’s legacy continues to inspire and touch lives around the globe.
From Love to Legacy: The Irwins’ Journey
Steve and Terri Irwin’s love story began in 1991 when they met, and within a year, they were married. Their union produced two beautiful children: Bindi, born in 1998, and Robert, who arrived in 2003. Tragically, Steve’s life was cut short in September 2006. While filming an underwater documentary titled Ocean’s Deadliest, he suffered a fatal injury from a stingray barb that pierced his heart. Despite this devastating loss, Steve’s spirit lives on through his family’s work.

Even after losing their beloved husband and father, Terri and the kids have kept Steve’s mission alive through Wildlife Warriors, a conservation nonprofit that he founded. They also continue to entertain and educate audiences worldwide on the Animal Planet series Crikey! It’s the Irwins. Terri has expanded the Australia Zoo, ensuring that it remains a vibrant hub for wildlife conservation and education.

Carrying the Torch: Keeping Steve's Legacy Alive
Steve’s children have grown up with a profound sense of responsibility to uphold their father’s legacy. In an interview with People, Bindi once said, “I sure hope dad would be proud. We really do try every day to make him proud and follow in his footsteps. I hope that somewhere he’s out there going, ‘Yes! You did good!’” Her brother, Robert, echoed this sentiment, adding, “No matter where we go, or what we do, we’ll always come back here. This is our passion. It’s a part of us, and Australia Zoo will always be home.”
Bindi has also shared rare glimpses into her father’s life, such as a piece of footage she recently posted on Instagram. “My first time watching this footage was only a few days ago. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to describe the amount of emotion in my heart once the video ended,” she captioned the clip. “My dad. My superhero. I promise to do my best to make you proud and ensure your legacy lives on forever.”
