After a noticeable absence from her social media platforms, Amy returned to Instagram to let her fans know she’s back. But this time, she came with a heavy heart, revealing the painful reason behind her two-month social media hiatus.
A Heartfelt Confession
“You may have noticed that I’ve gone a little dark on social media,” the 45-year-old beauty confessed in an Instagram post. “I flunked my mammogram recently. I felt a lump and got it checked, and unfortunately, the news was not good… Breast cancer.” Amy, known for her grace and resilience, wanted to assure her followers that despite the diagnosis, she feels incredibly fortunate. “The great news is that I caught it early. Although I am getting a mastectomy, I don’t need chemotherapy,” she wrote, radiating positivity and hope.

I will leave you with the mantra that so many women revert back to in order to minimize how they are feeling- but in my case, it really is the truth…I’m fine. Still…#fuckcancer

“In other words, I feel so lucky and grateful for this diagnosis, which could have easily been so much worse if I had waited,” she continued, emphasizing the importance of early detection. In the accompanying photo, Amy was seen giving a peace-sign hand gesture while lying down in an MRI machine, showcasing her strength and optimism.

Her fans poured in with heartfelt and encouraging messages in the comment section. Among the hundreds of well-wishers was Amy’s famous father, David Foster, who left a touching comment on her Instagram page. “Sorry Ames — been traveling so [it] took a while for me to see this in China here,” the 69-year-old music icon commented.
David added, “It has been such a [rough] roller coaster ride for you [these] past three weeks, but I am so proud of how strong you are and how you finally have an outcome that is [the] best scenario of the worst situation. Your attitude is incredible and your message is right on point to all women out there,” he gushed. “I love you and will always be right beside you on this.”
