Listen up, folks. It seems like Dean McDermott is taking a moment to give credit where it's due. The charismatic host of Chopped Canada recently opened up about the highly anticipated return of Beverly Hills, 90210. And let me tell you, he couldn’t be prouder of his wife, Tori Spelling, for her involvement in this reboot.
Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth: The Power Duo Behind the Scenes
Dean McDermott, who’s no stranger to the spotlight himself, is absolutely glowing when it comes to talking about his wife’s work on the BH90210 reboot. “I’m so proud of her for doing it,” he says with a smile you can almost hear. “She and Jennie [Garth] have created something really special. Now, let’s not call it a reboot because it’s not a straight reboot. It’s a heightened version, a fresh take on the classic series we all know and love.”
At 52 years old, Dean has watched his wife and Jennie Garth go through the entire process of bringing this project to life. “It’s not easy getting anything green-lit in Hollywood,” he explains, adding that this accomplishment is a testament to their hard work and dedication. “They’ve put in countless hours, brainstorming, pitching, and refining this idea until it became a reality. I’m just so proud of both of them.”

Reuniting the Original Cast: A Hollywood Triumph
Tori Spelling, now 46, and Jennie Garth, 47, are teaming up with their former co-stars—Shannen Doherty, Brian Austin Green, Ian Ziering, Jason Priestley, and Gabrielle Carteris—for the upcoming reboot. “Getting anything green-lit in Hollywood and made is a huge accomplishment,” Dean explains. “It’s not just about the talent; it’s about the perseverance and vision these actors bring to the table. I couldn’t be more thrilled for Tori and the entire cast.”
Dean continues, “I’m just so proud of her. I’m so proud of Jennie. I’m thrilled that everybody’s back together. This is more than just a TV show; it’s a celebration of the bonds they formed over the years.”
Clearing the Air: No Feud Between Tori and Shannen
Now, let’s address the elephant in the room. There’s been some speculation about bad blood between Tori and Shannen Doherty, 48, from back in the day. But Dean is quick to set the record straight. “Everything’s going great,” he reassures. “There’s absolutely no feud between her and Shannen. Let’s be honest here. Drama sells magazines, and it’s clickbait. But the truth is, they’re all professionals, and they’re excited to work together again.”

As a diehard fan of the original Beverly Hills, 90210, Dean knows how important it is to focus on the positive. “These women have grown and evolved over the years, and they’re ready to show the world what they’ve got. It’s going to be a fantastic show.”

Remembering Luke Perry: A Tribute in the Reboot
News of the reunion first made headlines in February after FOX announced that it had picked up the show. But the cast and producers had a heavy heart after learning of the passing of Luke Perry in March. Fans wondered how the show would pay tribute to his beloved character, Dylan McKay.
In May, Gabrielle Carteris, who became a household name while playing Andrea Tuckerman on the first five seasons of the ‘90s drama, revealed that the reboot would indeed address his passing. “We don’t want to make the show’s success hinge on Luke’s passing,” she explained to Closer Weekly at the panel for Geena Davis’ This Changes Everything documentary. “We’ll definitely acknowledge it, but we don’t want to exploit it in any way. And I don’t think Luke would want that. So, we’re going to do it in a very respectful way.”
BH90210 premieres Wednesday, August 7, at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
