A Fresh Take on a Classic Series
The original Beverly Hills, 90210 aired from 1990 to 2000, becoming a cultural phenomenon that captivated audiences worldwide. Now, the stars are back, but with a twist. This time around, they won’t be reprising their iconic roles. Instead, they’ll play fictionalized versions of themselves, exploring the idea of a reboot. The concept promises to deliver a mix of nostalgia and fresh storytelling, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.
Joining Shannen, Jennie, Gabrielle, and Tori are Brian Austin Green, Jason Priestley, and Ian Ziering. These familiar faces are set to bring the magic of the original series to a new generation while honoring its legacy. However, one beloved member of the cast, Luke Perry, won’t be returning. Luke tragically passed away in March 2019 after suffering a massive stroke. His absence is deeply felt by the cast and fans alike.
Remembering Luke Perry: A Tribute to a Legend
Shannen paid tribute to Luke, sharing her admiration for the late actor. “Luke was a smart, quiet, humble, and complex man with a heart of gold and [a] never-ending well of integrity and love,” she told People. Shannen also revealed that Luke reached out to her during her cancer journey, rekindling their friendship. “We picked right back up, albeit older and wiser, but that connection remained intact,” she added.

Gabrielle Carteris, 58, revealed that the cast will honor Luke’s memory in a respectful way. “We don’t want to go and make a success out of the show based on that, so we’ll definitely tilt our head to that, but I think that we don’t want to go and in any way try to glorify that to make our show successful,” she told Closer Weekly. “And I don’t think Luke would want that. So, we’re going to do it in a very respectful way.”
