Before Luke Perry tragically passed away at the age of 52 on March 4, just days after suffering a massive stroke, he was asked to join the cast of the highly anticipated Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot, BH90210. Although his demanding schedule on Riverdale made it impossible for him to participate, his co-stars Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth revealed that the late actor was genuinely excited about his friends reuniting for one final season.
“Luke was actually on speakerphone during our very first meeting,” Tori shared with People. “He was incredibly supportive and genuinely proud that we were bringing the show back together.”

Words of Wisdom from Luke Perry
During that phone call, Luke not only expressed his support but also offered some sage advice to his fellow cast members. “He told us, ‘Don’t lose sight of your vision, and always stick to your guns,’” Tori recalled. “He encouraged us to stay true to our original plan and not let outside influences sway us.”

“So many times during filming, I thought to myself, ‘Luke would be so thrilled to see us all together like this,’” Jennie added. “His passing brought us all closer together in a profound way. It created a deeper bond among us that I don’t think any of us expected.”
The Return of the Cast
On Wednesday, August 7, Beverly Hills, 90210 made its triumphant return to the small screen with BH90210, featuring the original cast members Tori Spelling, Jennie Garth, Jason Priestley, Gabrielle Carteris, Shannen Doherty, Ian Ziering, and Brian Austin Green. This reunion marked a full-circle moment for the iconic series.
“Life has a funny way of working out,” Jennie reflected. “Even though we’ve had our ups and downs over the years, we’ve grown to love each other like family. There’s something special about us all coming together again after 30 years.”
