Let’s be real—being a celebrity might seem glamorous, but it’s not always a walk in the park. Just ask Marie Osmond! The iconic singer behind “Paper Roses” revealed a chilling story about the time she and her brother, Donny Osmond, faced a serious threat while performing in New York City. It’s a reminder that even the brightest stars can face dark moments.
A Night to Remember—or Forget?
Marie, now 60, took a trip down memory lane during an appearance on The Talk back in November 2019. She recalled a particularly nerve-wracking moment when she and Donny were putting on a Christmas show at Times Square. “We had been there for about a week, doing our thing, spreading holiday cheer,” Marie said with a mix of humor and seriousness. “But right before the final show, we got a death threat. And guess who it was aimed at? Me. The message was clear: ‘I’ve watched you several times, and tonight is the night.’”

Now, you might think that would’ve been enough to cancel the show, right? But not these two. Marie admitted that she and Donny, now 61, weren’t about to let fear dictate their lives. “You know, you get crazy stuff like that in this business,” she said with a shrug. “But we looked at each other and said, ‘Let’s do this show.’” The audience erupted into applause, and guest cohost Brigitte Nielsen chimed in with, “Nothing stops you, you’re incredible!”

The Plan to Outsmart the Threat
Of course, just showing up wasn’t enough. Marie and Donny knew they had to think fast to protect themselves and their fans. “We decided to switch up our positions on stage,” Marie explained. “If I was supposed to be on the right, Donny would take that spot, and vice versa. It was our way of throwing off anyone who might’ve been watching us closely.” She paused, adding, “Because if anyone got hurt, we wanted to make sure it wasn’t because we didn’t try to stop it.”
