Let’s talk about Jessica Biel and her little bundle of joy, Silas. Just because Mom enjoys hitting the slopes doesn’t mean her 4-year-old son shares the same enthusiasm. In a candid chat with Seth Meyers on October 23, the actress hilariously recounted their family’s skiing adventure gone slightly awry.
Silas’ First Skiing Experience: Not Quite a Hit
Jessica shared that maybe they tried introducing skiing to Silas a bit too early. When Seth, who’s always quick with a joke, mentioned that he’s seen babies loving skiing, Jessica wasn’t buying it. “Not my kid,” she quipped. Silas was totally unimpressed, reacting with a look of sheer confusion, as if to say, “What is this madness?”
And then came the skis. Once they strapped those on, Silas went full-on protest mode. “Really? Seriously? I can’t even move in this giant… I’m covered in down!” That’s right, folks. Silas wasn’t having any of it. He was definitely not excited about this new outdoor activity.

First Impressions Matter: Seth’s Take
Seth followed up with a pretty insightful comment. “I do feel like if you have a bad first experience with something, it can set you back for years.” Jessica wholeheartedly agreed, admitting she was a little worried about Silas’ future skiing endeavors. But let’s be real, this isn’t going to stop her from trying again when the time is right.

Silas’ Hidden Talents: The Funny Bone
Now, don’t get me wrong. Jessica isn’t worried about Silas losing interest in skiing. The kid has plenty of other skills that are just as impressive. Take his sense of humor, for instance. “Now he’s telling the joke and gets the joke, which is terrifying,” Jessica told Ellen DeGeneres during an appearance on her show. Imagine this: Silas was in St. Louis while Justin was on tour. Justin was doing a bit about how he no longer likes waffles, and Silas chimed in with, “I’m in St. Louis.” Classic kid humor, right?
Jessica’s Wish for Silas: A Comedian in the Making?
Jessica has always hoped Silas would inherit Justin’s charm and sense of humor. Back in May 2017, she told an Australian publication, “I would like our baby to inherit Justin’s charm and his sense of humor.” Who knows? Maybe Silas will follow in his parents’ footsteps, not in movies or music, but in the world of comedy. Picture him landing stand-up specials instead of hit records. Wouldn’t that be something?
